What stays on your device

Your videos, file names, folders, watching progress and settings stay on your device. We never receive them.

Usage statistics

To learn how many people use Filmerio, the app sends at most once a day a small report: a random installation ID (pseudonymous — it is created by the app and not linked to your name, account or device identifiers), app version, app language, platform and whether the app was installed or started. Statistics are on by default and you can switch them off in Settings at any time; the app then sends nothing more. The country is estimated from your IP address on arrival; the IP address itself is not stored. The report never contains video titles, file names or searches.

The reports are stored on our own server, are not shared with or sold to anyone, and are deleted after 12 months at the latest; we keep only aggregated counts. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by switching statistics off or by writing to [email protected].

Subtitle search

When you tap “Download subtitles”, the app sends a technical fingerprint (hash) of the video file, its file name and the chosen language directly to OpenSubtitles.com to find matching subtitles. This happens only when you ask for it. OpenSubtitles processes the request under its own privacy policy.

This website

This website uses no analytics or advertising trackers. It sets only one cookie, and only when you open a language-switch link (such as the language switch in the menu): “jazyk” remembers the chosen language (en or cs) for one year so the home page opens in that language. Without it, the home page picks Czech for web browsers in Czechia or set to Czech, otherwise English. Search engines and other automated tools always get the English home page. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in the Czech Republic: Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, www.uoou.cz). Because the installation ID is not linked to your identity, we usually cannot find your reports; switching statistics off stops any further reports.

Children

Filmerio does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
